Lythop Art and it's miniature world is the creation of Alice Goode.
About the artist
Alice is a fine artist, and illustrator, based in Warwickshire, UK.
Having been brought up in amongst artists, she had the privilege of guidance and encouragement in the arts from a very young age and as such is well practiced in a variety of art mediums, subjects and styles.
Working in miniature
When Alice was around 7 years old, she and her father started to get involved in a postal exchange of miniature drawings. Images had to be no larger than the size of a regular postage stamp and were shared across the world with other artists. Alice recalled these exchanges positively and following conversations with her father in 2021 began to revisit the medium of miniature art.
Alice quickly found that working in miniature again offered her the one thing she felt she had been missing in her art… focus! Working in Miniature, Alice feels free to paint, whatever and however she likes. The only limit she places on her own paintings and drawings is to be able to produce them small enough to fit into her miniature worlds.
The miniature galleries
As a visual storyteller, curating a miniature gallery using her paintings was a natural progression and Alice takes great delight in creating scenes that allow the audience to not only enjoy the different art on display within each individually created gallery, but also to reflect on the act of viewing art itself.
In 2023 Alice won the LSA prize with one of her miniature galleries, created during a day spent at the Warwickshire Open Studios Plein Air event.
